Rockets and Robotics Galore

UW STEAM

We are halfway through the year of our University of Washington program. Our 6th Graders have been diving deep into their mission of assessing if life on the moon is possible. Through challenges the students have learned to overcome obstacles by first learning how we travel to the moon, how close we are to being able to survive in that atmosphere. Students have explored in depth through experimentation, and they have learned that there are many similarities between the Earth and Moon but there are also a lot of differences. From learning about the surface area to building and launching their own rockets students have learned to overcome obstacles and work as a team. Recently the students took their second trip to The University of Washington campus in Seattle where they got to visit the Robotics lab and connect with the materials hands on. Afterwards they were able to program their own robots to complete mini missions. It was day to remember, and we are excited to invite the UW students out to Campbell Farm later this month for alternative spring break.
